| * Handren A. Khoshnaw. * Born in Arbil city the capital of Kurdistan. * Education: Bachelor of Science. He works as a painter, cartoonist, caricaturist, journalist and translator in several newspapers and magazines in Kurdistan, also he publishing his works in international magazines and web sites. He is one of Kurds most popular caricaturists & cartoonists. Drawing has been an interest of Handrens since his childhood. He is a grandson of the famous Kurdish artist (Rassul Bezar Gardy 1922 - 1993) His first published work in the kurdish newspapers was in September 4,1994 in (Alai Azadi newspaper). He is the first Kurdish cartoon artists that use a computer to accomplish his work in the technical and development, and development of his style. He is the first Kurdish caricaturist painter published his work in a special exhibition at the(Iraqi caricature Museum) website at 2008. He first kurdish caricaturists publishing his cartoons in European and USA newspapers and magazines, and he is the first kurdish caricaturists involved in European and American cartoons exhibitions and art festivals, Because he wanted the world to know the art of caricature Kurdish new Growing. * Participated in six painting exhibitions in 1986-1992 * Set up his first caricatural exhibition in 1986,when he was a student in college of science. * Participated in five caricatural exhibitions 87-88-89-90-1992. * Participated in the second caricatural gallery of (mala mashur magazine) in 2003. * Participated in the first gallery of the Kurdistan Caricaturists Association in 2005. * Participated in the caricatural exhibition of the (Kurdish press day) in Arbil 2006, and awarded by the Bedrkhan press Foundation. * Participated in many caricatural and cartoon exhibition in Cairo,London,Spain,Turkey,Belgium,Mexico, Bosnia,Serbia,Iran,USA 2006-2010. * Participated in a cartoon exhibition in (Arbil first artistic festival) in 2007. * Established his second cartoon exhibition on the anniversary of (Anfal Kurdistan) in 2009. * Participated in the first Boston International humor festival in the United States in 2010. * Participated in five photography exhibitions of the ( Kurdistan photographers Association) in Kurdistan and Iraq for the years 2005-2008. He is an active member of the: 1-Kurdistan Journalists Syndicate. 2-Organization of Kurdistan Artists. 3-Kurdistan Photographers Association.. 4-Member of the Supreme Assembly of the Kurdistan caricaturists association. 5-International Federation of Journalists( IFJ) 6-International Society of Caricature Artists. Currently serves as chief- editor of the (Tanzwena cartoons magazine). Publications: Booklet (Political Laughs) in 2008. Book (Bitter Laughs) in 2010. |
