Renato Ciavola (Italy)

- Cartoonist, illustrator, writer, journalist, reading promoter. - Born in 1948 in Fabriano (AN) Italy, he has drawn since his childhood, then at the age of 18 he started writing. - Taken a degree in scientific disciplines, he become a teacher in the High School and University but he always worked, contemporaneously, as a professional man of image and written word. - After his beginning as a cartoonist (works of him figure also in the Museum of Caricature of Tolentino-MC where he took part for many years in the Humor Festival), he also wrote various books for educators and boys, some of which by the language of comics. - For several years he was interested to the world of theatre as journalist and collaborator of theatrical comapanies. - He thought up and coordinated Comic-Schools, he is person in charge of the Reading Centre-Library for boys of Fabriano city “The - Talking Cricket”; he is vice-president of the GSLG-Service Group for Juvenile Literature, national association of writers, illustrators, enliveners for the divulgence of reading among children and bys. - In Dicember 2005 he has realized his own site www.cartoonword.it where, among other things, he keeps a News-Page that he continously updates with cartoons, little essays, comments, thoughts by comics
