Witold Mysyrowicz (Poland)

- Witold Mysyrowicz born in 1947 in Warsaw.
- He had a C from art classes in school.
- Graduated with distinction from the Academy for Fine Arts in Warsaw in Prof.
- Henryk Tomaszewski’s workshop in 1973.
- His activities concern press, book, and advertisement graphics, satirical drawings, and, occasionally, other plastic arts.
- He has participated in hundreds of exhibitions of posters, paintings, and drawings in Poland and in many countries on all continents.
- He is a multiple participant of the International Poster Biennale in Warsaw and of the Polish Poster Biennale in Katowice.
- He has received 120 awards and distinctions for his works /posters, graphic signs, and drawings/ in national and international competitions /among others in France, Germany, Russia, Italy, Spain, India, Slovakia, China, The Czech Republic, Ukraine/.
- He has won the Tadeusz Trepkowski Prize twice and the Satyrykon ten times /including a silver medal and "Ostre zęby satyry" (Satire's sharp teeth)/.
- He has also received "Dębowa Kość” (Oak Bone) Sochaczew 1997, and the “Srebrna Pałka Komendanta Głównego Policji” (Police Chief’s Silver Baton) in 1999 as well as many other prestigious awards.
- He is an author of several hundreds of posters, provided graphic designs and illustrations for many books and advertisements as well as short-run materials.
- He co-operated in creation of settings for mass events.
- He has had 20 individual exhibitions.
- He has been involved with visual communication, para-happening activities, and implementation of painting in architecture.
- In 1980 he was on the Ministry of Culture and Art scholarship.
- He has published his satirical drawings in, among others: Szpilki, Karuzela, Prasa Polska, Odrodzenie, Sztuka, Trybuna, Puk-Puk, and occasionally in other titles in Poland and abroad.
- He has been co-operating with “NIE” weekly since 1990 where he has published over 3.500 drawings.
- His works can be found in private collections and many museums in Poland and abroad.
- He was a member of ZPAP.
- He was also a member of the former SPAGP and the founding-member of SPAK.
- Thirty years of his versatile, professional artistic activity have passed in 2004.
- The artist uses a pencil, crayon, pen and ink, scissors, as well as a computer mouse with equal skill because, as he claims himself, he always works using his head so, basically, using nothing. His favourite motto is Pablo Picasso’s saying that “Nature has to exist so that we can deform it”.
